Scintillation Radiation Detectors
ORTEC offers a variety of scintillation detectors, including thallium-activated sodium iodide [NaI(Tl)] and lanthanum bromide [LaBr3(Ce)].
NaI(Tl) radiation detectors are economical and available in many configurations and sizes. LaBr radiation detectors offer improved performance due to higher resolution, stability, and shorter light decay times.
Both types of radiation detectors rely on gamma-ray interaction bases to generate light pulses, which are then detected in a photomultiplier and converted into voltage pulses for further signal processing.
